Skull cup final

Well no matter what happened, we were going to have a repeat winner.

Happily I can announce that the Wood Elves defeated the Amazons 2-1 to claim the Skull Cup.

Cas were 1-1

Special event, Once again the brewmaster joins in the fun.

Elves before match pay off remaining 10K loan and borrow 70K more. They then proceed to hire Legion and freeboot a lineelf. leaving them with only 5K in their treasury.

Their two handicaps were "that boys got talent" and extra training.
The extra reroll was never a factor, but the Dryad was a boon, especially with the Oak aspect chosen (+str, +av, -Ag, Thick Skull Stat line 5428)

Woodies win the toss and elect to receive. They decide to stall and the Amazons stop them from scoring. Half ends 0-0 . 2nd half, nuns score in three turns, Elves then 1 turn score.

Bad luck picking up the ball, and a very fortunate series of bounces, sets the elves up to run in, snag the ball and then score on turn 15.

The Amazons set up to try to one turn score, but Rebecca's long door spell falls three squares short.

Last Week 9 game finished

Ferritbitten's fury defeats Ogres 3-2 in squeaker.

Two handicaps: Assasin (Rufus Ko'ed) and In the bag (worse 11 players until losing).

Graeme played Ogres and I played Rats. The Ogres let the Rats go 1st, and they proceeded to 1 turn score and therby invalidating both of their handicaps as Rufus recovered and now that the Ogres were losing, they could now sit the snotling down. As I type this, I'm thinking that this was Graeme's plan.

The rats defensively scored and then the Ogres utilized a bad kick and gave the ball to Goliath who rumbled down field to score.

Score at half 2-1 rats.

The 2nd half started with Pestilience being BH and almost another defensive TD. As it turned out there was much carnage and finally on turn 16 the Ogres scored.

The rats, who had hid their 1 turn scorer all game in the reserves, trotted him out and proceeded with out any rerolls available to them to 1 turn score. Sometimes its better to be lucky then good.

Wood Elves Defeat Ogres 5-2

Bobby sat in for Dave and with a little bit of Kibittizing from Jeremy, really took his instructions from Dave to heart. He went out of his way to hit, hurt and foul the elves every chance he could, but sadly the wood elves were playing with a stacked deck.

With 3 gobbo missing, the Ogres could only field 11 to the elves 12. Oh did I mention that the Elves also had 2 handicaps.

Virus and Palmed Coin.

Goliath, wonderboy and Jerimah grimm all niggled out. Down to eight players. Bobby used the apothocary to bring Goliath back into the game, 9 players.

Did I forget to tell you about the sweltering heat we played in that would keep 1-2 players from both teams off the pitch each drive?

Short staffed and low on AG 3 players, the Ogres tried. Mr Nasty man was ejected for fouling, as was the rookie elf catcher.

Gate: 52K
Score 5-2 Elves
Cas 2-1 Ogres

Details posted later, but for those that care, of the 3 cas:

The Elven 4 str lineelf was injured defensively by Goliath, and recieved a Niggle, which I used my apothocary on. The other elvish casualty was a Badly Hurt.

The one casualty that the Ogres received was on Jobu. With the Apo already used, he had to accept the smashed Hip (-Move) that Woody inflicted on him.

Both teams +1 FF
Earnings: (-2 due to fans) Ogres +0K WE +40K

1 adance for the elfs, a lineelf with Block gains dodge. 110K in the bank for the woodelves, most likey means a rookie wardancer will be hired for the big week 9 match vs the Nuns.
